Job summary

C&C Wholesale Distributors in Dallas, TX is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing activities and inventory management across multiple branches. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a fast learner, and capable of building strong vendor relationships while maintaining accurate records.

This role requires experience in purchasing and a preference for knowledge of the floor covering industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience in a Purchasing role
• Experience in the floor covering industry with some product knowledge strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Fast-learner and problem solver with high attention to detail
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and turn rates to guide purchasing decisions
• Inventory Management: Help maintain accurate item records — pricing, stock minimums, packaging details — and phase out obsolete items
• Inventory Management: Support day-to-day inventory processes like receiving, transfers, and shipping
• Inventory Management: Identify slow-moving inventory and recommend solutions, including transfers between branches
• Inventory Management: Help maintain sufficient levels of inventory on hand across locations
• Purchasing: Place purchase orders with vendors to keep inventory turning and avoid stockouts
• Purchasing: Coordinate drop/direct shipments from vendors to customers
• Purchasing: Manage truckload shipping with select vendors and choose freight providers
• Purchasing: Review daily branch order requests and communicate decisions back to requestors
• Purchasing: Build strong vendor relationships to secure favorable pricing and service
• Purchasing: Track missed sales and backorders to inform purchasing decisions
• Purchasing: Work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies
• Operations Support: Coordinate with warehouse teams on deliveries and pickups
• Operations Support: Maintain accurate records throughout the purchasing process (POs, confirmations, shipping documents, etc.)
• Operations Support: Coordinate vendor returns with Branch Managers to ensure proper credit
• Operations Support: Resolve shipping shortages and see issues through to resolution
