• Negotiate pricing and freight costs to protect profitability.
• Track orders, back orders, and deliveries to ensure on-time arrival.

CTW Design Center is an established flooring and interior design company serving residential, builder, and commercial customers throughout the Madison area. We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent for our Flooring division to join our growing team.

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of flooring industry experience to be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Purchase carpet, hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, laminate, tile, and flooring installation supplies.
• Verify product specifications, quantities, costs, availability, and delivery dates.
• Work directly with flooring manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers.
• Negotiate competitive material pricing and freight costs.
• Track purchase orders, back orders, and material deliveries.
• Coordinate with scheduling and warehouse departments to ensure materials arrive on time.
• Identify and resolve purchasing discrepancies, vendor errors, and material shortages.
• Process vendor returns, credits, and material claims.
• Support residential, builder, commercial, and B2B purchasing needs.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and communicate potential delays.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve company profitability.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years working in the flooring industry - REQUIRED.
• Strong knowledge of flooring products, manufacturers, and distributors.
• Understanding of flooring measurements, quantities, specifications, and installation materials.
• Experience with flooring ordering processes and material lead times.
• Excellent organization, communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines; proficiency with order management software.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous flooring purchasing or order management experience.
