SUMMARY

Seeking a Purchasing Manager in North Houston, TX. This position will be responsible for managing customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction, and overseeing the purchasing team with a focus on inventory and vendor relationships. RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Process purchase orders, quotes, and confirmations in a timely manner.
2. Manage all open purchase orders pending supplier confirmation, including quantity, pricing, and delivery date.
3. Work with suppliers to receive confirmation within 24 hours of placing a purchase order.
4. Handle quote requests from sales or customer service representatives promptly.
5. Manage supplier relationships to meet expectations regarding competitiveness, service, quality, and responsiveness while maintaining positive relations.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in procurement, managing teams (preferably in the packaging industry).
• Strong communication skills with a positive, supportive attitude and a sense of urgency.
• Effective negotiation skills.
• Solid understanding of inventory management and backorders.
