PURCHASING MANAGER

Our client is in the plastic manufacturing industry and located near HOBBY AIRPORT.

They are seeking to add a PURCHASING MANAGER to their team. This role is DIRECT-HIRE, PERMANENT, and offers FULL BENEFITS.

The position offers a compensation of up to $70K, depending on experience. It requires in-person attendance in the HOBBY AIRPORT area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Review purchase activity for accuracy and completeness.
2. Maintain detailed procurement records, including costs, delivery timelines, product quality, and inventory levels.
3. Build relationships with vendors to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
4. Select products for purchase through testing, observation, or examination.
5. Verify receipt of goods/services and address invoice discrepancies to ensure timely payments.
6. Resolve issues on unacceptable goods/services by coordinating with quality control, vendors, and internal teams.
7. Coordinate delivery schedules to meet operational needs, including expediting when necessary.
8. Communicate with various teams to monitor inventory levels for seamless production.
9. Determine procurement methods suitable for different items, such as direct purchase or competitive bidding.
10. Prepare and issue purchase orders and bid requests.
11. Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budget and authority limits.
12. Manage compliance with procurement policies, ensuring raw materials are sourced from approved suppliers and meet specifications.
13. Supervise one direct report and collaborate with multiple parties.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree – REQUIRED
2. 5+ years of PURCHASING experience – REQUIRED
3. Supervisory experience – PREFERRED
