House of Forgings and its subsidiaries are seeking an experienced and motivated Purchasing Manager to oversee all purchasing activities, supporting organizational operations efficiently and cost-effectively.
Responsibilities
- Establish and implement purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
- Manage procurement processes to ensure timely and budget-compliant purchasing and delivery.
- Identify and source new suppliers and vendors.
- Manage vendor selection based on price, quality, support, capacity, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Maintain an approved vendor/supplier database.
- Negotiate and administer purchasing agreements and contracts.
- Ensure contractual compliance and evaluate contracts for legal and organizational adherence.
- Monitor vendor compliance and performance metrics.
- Oversee supplier quality standards and regulatory compliance.
- Address cost, quality, and delivery issues proactively.
- Manage risks associated with quality, cost, delivery, and supply chain.
- Implement performance improvement measures for suppliers.
- Coordinate with relevant departments on inventory needs.
- Facilitate purchase order placement and review for compliance.
- Develop and oversee purchasing budgets and forecasts.
- Track and reduce purchase variances to meet profit goals.
- Generate reports on procurement activities and performance.
- Manage the operations and performance of the purchasing department.
- Lead and motivate purchasing staff.
- Continuously improve purchasing processes to adapt to market and organizational changes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Stay informed on market trends, prices, and delivery conditions to optimize procurement strategies.
Requirements
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Professional tact, courtesy, and ethical conduct.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; coursework in purchasing/inventory management preferred.
- Experience in purchasing and procurement.
- Knowledge of project management principles.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems like Eclipse preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged sitting and working at a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Potential travel to vendors or company locations.
