Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with warehouse teams for delivery discrepancies and returns.

POSITION SUMMARY Oversees all procurement functions for the casino property, ensuring that goods and services are acquired at the best value while maintaining compliance with gaming regulations, internal controls, and financial policies. This role manages vendor relationships, negotiates contracts, monitors spending, and supports cost‑control initiatives in alignment with the property’s financial objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended as an overview of key responsibilities of the work for this position and are not all inclusive:

  • Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests. Demonstrates the Cedar Crossing culture in all interactions with guests and co-workers.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established procedures with company policy and state regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations.
  • Responsible for creating and fostering an environment of support and motivation for Team Members.
  • Manages end‑to‑end purchasing activities for all departments, including Gaming Operations, Food & Beverage, Facilities, Surveillance, and Marketing.
  • Ensures timely issuance, tracking, and approval of purchase orders in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Sources products, materials, and services at competitive prices without compromising quality or compliance.
  • Coordinates with warehouse or receiving teams to address delivery discrepancies, returns, or damaged goods.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with approved vendors and service providers.
  • Leads RFP processes, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Monitors vendor performance, pricing, and adherence to service-level agreements.
  • Ensures vendors meet all gaming licensing requirements, certifications, and compliance standards.
  • Works closely with the Finance Director to ensure alignment with budgets and cost-saving objectives.
  • Tracks spending trends and analyze purchasing data to identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Prepares routine financial and procurement reports, including spend analysis, cost projections, and contract summaries.
  • Maintains accurate records for audit and regulatory reviews.
  • Ensures all procurement activities comply with casino gaming regulations, purchasing controls, and internal audit requirements.
  • Supports regulatory audits, internal audits, and compliance reviews by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
  • Implements and enforces purchasing policies and procedures across the property.
  • Partners with department leaders to understand operational needs and plan procurement schedules.
  • Provides guidance to stakeholders on procurement best practices and cost optimization strategies.
  • Supports emergency or expedited purchasing while preserving documentation integrity.
  • Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
  • Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field preferred. Three (3) to five (5) years of purchasing or procurement experience. Hospitality or casino industry experience is strongly preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Familiarity with gaming regulations, procurement controls, and audit requirements p referred. Proficiency in purchasing systems, ERP tools, Microsoft Office and menu-driven programs strongly preferred. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills required. Ability to work in an intense, fast‑paced environment requiring a high degree of concentration. Must be able to formulate and communicate ideas and to make independent decisions.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
  • Obtain and maintain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department.
  • Have knowledge of property programs to address problem gambling.
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.
  • Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member of which they have knowledge.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Must have ability to:

  • Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently.
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
  • Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission License (will be obtained after employment begins)
  • Valid driver's license with a minimum of three (3) years driving experience
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.
