Job summary

Goodwill Central Texas is seeking a Purchasing Assistant Manager to support procurement, inventory control, and merchandising strategies. You will lead daily operations of the New Goods Warehouse, supervise staff, and ensure accurate documentation from receipt to distribution.

The role emphasizes vendor relationship management, process improvement, and collaboration with Retail and Finance to meet store needs and budgets in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain vendor relationships to identify and procure merchandise for Goodwill stores.
• Attend tradeshows and events to source new vendors and stay current with market trends.
• Supervise daily operations of the New Goods Warehouse, including receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
• Ensure accurate documentation and procedures from product receipt through distribution.
• Oversee product labeling, UPC accuracy, and system entry prior to store shipment.
• Collaborate with Purchasing Manager to align warehouse inventory with retail orders.
• Assist with merchandising strategies, SOPs, and store rollouts.
• Coordinate shipment schedules with logistics to fulfill store needs.
• Track and confirm store orders and inventory data accuracy.
• Lead and train New Goods staff within budget and policy.
• Uphold safety, cleanliness, and professionalism in the warehouse.
• Foster clear communication across Retail and Finance departments for process flow.
• Evaluate feedback and recommend process improvements.
