Elite Staffing Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Clerk in Elk Grove Village, IL to create and process purchase orders in NetSuite from approved requisitions, and to confirm pricing, quantities, and delivery dates with suppliers.

You will track open orders, chase late shipments, and resolve discrepancies with Receiving and Accounts Payable. The role requires ERP experience (SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle) and strong Excel skills, with duties including vendor document handling and routine spend reporting.

Purchasing clerk

Duties

• Create and process purchase orders in NetSuite from approved requisitions
• Confirm pricing, quantities, and delivery dates with suppliers
• Track open orders, chase late shipments, and flag shortages before they affect production
• Work with Receiving and Accounts Payable to resolve quantity, damage, and invoice discrepancies
• Collect supplier documents (specs, certificates of analysis, allergen statements) and route them to QA
• Keep vendor records, pricing files, and purchasing logs accurate
• Prepare quote comparisons and routine order and spend reports for the purchasing team

Requirements

• Proven experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS or similar materials management platforms
• Strong understanding of supply chain management principles including inventory control, sourcing, procurement, and vendor relationship management
• Proficiency in using spreadsheets and Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes
• Excellent communication skills for vendor negotiation and internal collaboration
• Knowledge of purchasing management systems that are technically supported within the organization’s infrastructure
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Familiarity with contracts, pricing strategies, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and direct negotiation procurement processes
