Job summary

Boatswain’s Locker in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking an organized purchasing and inventory professional to manage purchasing workflows, supplier relations, and inventory control.

You will perform PO issuance, data entry, monthly reconciliations, and maintain accurate product information in the P21 system, while ensuring accurate stock levels and timely reordering.

Responsibilities

• Perform purchasing functions such as issuing purchase orders, invoice creation, pricing verification, payment authorization.
• Identify/resolve issues related to product quality, pricing, delivery, utilization, and loss.
• Perform month-end reconciliation and research variances to authorize inventory adjustments.
• Receive all parts and materials and enter into database.
• Track inventory and control the flow of equipment.
• Develop a standard reordering process and ensure inventory is received.
• Maintain product information in the P21 system (adding and deleting items, setting stock levels, changing descriptions, etc.).

Compensation: Commensurate with experience but ranging between $25.00 - $30.00 per hour. Location: Costa Mesa, California Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Examples of the duties and responsibilities include :

• Perform all purchasing functions, such as issuing purchase orders (PO’s), invoice creation, pricing verification, payment authorization, complete entries into accounting system
• Identify/resolve any all issues related to product quality, pricing, delivery, utilization, and loss
• Perform month end reconciliation process; research any variances and authorize appropriate inventory adjustments
• Receive all parts supplies and materials and enter into database
• Perform various projects/tasks needed by management
• Tracking inventory, controlling the flow of equipment, and the ordering of inventory
• Develop a standard reordering of inventory process and ensure inventory was received. Able to organize, inspect, and efficiently track inventory.
• Maintain the product information within the P21 system (adding and deleting items, setting stock levels, changing descriptions, etc.)

SKILLS

• Must be experienced in purchasing and inventory control management
• Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and exercise independent judgment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrate proficiency in purchasing principles.
• Knowledge of Excel

Regarding Location: This position requires physical residency in California. Remote work from outside the United States is not permitted.
