Job summary

General Beverage and Beer Sales Companies in Madison, WI seeks a purchasing coordinator to order products from suppliers based on projections, inventory and sales trends. You will negotiate shipments to our warehouses and coordinate with purchasers at other locations for efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge of system inventory, orders, discounts, and deals.
  • Analyze daily/monthly sales records, trends, economic conditions and anticipate consumer buying patterns and review system projections for purchase quantities.
  • Execute purchases needed to fulfill market objectives in coordination with management.
  • Monitor internal transfers of inventory and purchasing receipts.
  • Verify inventory and bills received, approve invoices and freight bills for payment, make any needed adjustments in system.
  • Work with other locations to maximize combined ordering and cover low inventory as needed.
  • Assess market lead times, trends in trucking/delivery methods of incoming products and advise management on delays or changes in lead times.
  • Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries, resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries and other problems.
  • Communicate with clarity and pace if disconnects and/or disruptions in the supply chain are experienced.
  • Participate in cycle counts, physical inventories and analyze results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Description

Responsible for accurately ordering products from assigned suppliers based on projections, inventory analysis, sales trend analysis, solid record keeping, and regular communication with sales consultants and managers. They negotiate for shipment of product to our warehouses, and coordinate with purchasers at other locations for maximum efficiency.

Requirements
  • Keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy of orders, billing, receiving, and transfers and timely and cost-effective delivery of product.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate and coordinate with sales leadership, internal departments and locations, and outside suppliers and shipping companies.
  • Nimble data analysis skills to forecast and evaluate appropriate purchase quantities while considering changes in market conditions.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven and committed to best-in-class service.
