Job summary

Ultimate Staffing Services is seeking a detail-oriented Material Control / Purchasing Associate to work on-site in Torrance, CA. Responsibilities include processing purchase orders, handling EDI orders, scheduling manufacturing orders, and coordinating with factories to ensure on-time shipping and inventory levels.

Responsibilities

• Process all purchase orders and related requests accurately and timely.
• Process EDI orders to factory and schedule manufacturing orders for production.
• Communicate with factories to plan shipping and production schedules.
• Monitor invoices, order dates, and required documents; maintain optimal inventory.
• Identify material control issues and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare for monthly inventory and obsolescence reviews.

Job description

Salary: USD31.25 - USD34.85 per hour

Pay Rate:

$31.25 - $34.85 per hour (Non-Exempt, W-2)

Work Schedule:

On-site, Monday through Friday

• Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Lunch Break: 30 minutes

Primary Duty:

Working in a team environment, provide superior customer service by processing orders in a timely manner, maintaining a stable supply from existing and/or new vendors through the proper evaluation of material requirements in both finished goods and components to meet zero shipping delay due to operations.

Job Functions:

• Accurately and timely process all purchase orders, Special Delivery Requests, orders, parts requests from factories and supplies;
• Accurately and timely process EDI orders to factory;
• Accurately and timely process LDR.
• Accurately and timely schedule manufacturing orders for production;
• Communicate with factories (vendors) to plan shipping (production) schedules in timely manner.
• Monitor and record invoices and order received dates, and process the required documents timely;
• Monitor freight forwarder performance, analyze problems, communicate information to forwarders and negotiate improvements as appropriate;
• Maintain optimal inventory to prevent stock shortage;
• Review daily market and contract inventory usage and order replenishment by cut-off time;
• Identify Material Control problems at an early stage and communicate findings to Supervisor along with corrective action or recommendations;
• Consult with supervision on material management decisions outside of standard operating procedures;
• Prepare and work with other departments for monthly inventory and obsolete;
• Communicate sales department about any delays/changes in customer orders;
• Process customs activities (ex. preparing HTS codes, preparing and submitting 10+2 data).
• Perform other tasks and special projects as needed.
• Learn new system and raise improvement ideas as needed.
