Job summary

Donaldson Company, Inc. in Dixon, IL is looking for a Punch Press Operator on the 1st shift (Mon–Thu, 4:00am–2:00pm) to set up and operate punch presses and related equipment. You will fabricate metal components according to drawings and specifications.

The role requires basic education with a high school diploma or GED (or 1 year related experience). You will interpret drawings, work with hand tools, and ensure safety policies are followed, including DOT/HAZMAT compliance.

Overview

The Punch Press Operator position is located in Dixon, IL. The role involves setting up and operating punch presses and special purpose equipment to fabricate metal components according to specifications. This 1st shift runs Monday through Thursday from 4:00am to 2:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a variety of machines such as punch presses to form metal according to drawing requirements.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Use hand tools and work with material to produce parts.
• Count product and resolve routine questions and problems, referring more complex issues to higher levels.
• Comply with all DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Wear all designated personal protective equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or one (1) year of related experience in lieu of education.
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks safely in a fast‑paced work environment.
• Constructive and effective communication with all plant employees.
• Team orientation toward common goals.
• Capacity to respond positively to change and perform additional assigned duties.

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience.
• Lean certification.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate: $20.69. Actual salaries may vary based on experience, training, education, and performance. The position is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on performance and company growth. Benefits include health benefits, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and paid leaves, including paternal leave.
