Port Townsend Paper Company in Port Townsend, WA is seeking a Pulp Mill Shift Supervisor to lead day and evening operations, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental compliance while achieving production targets.

The role is full-time, salary-exempt and reports to the Pulp Mill Superintendent. You will direct mill operators and utilities staff to maintain continuous, safe and efficient processing on a two 12-hour shift cycle.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience to relief foreman level.
• Track employee development via annual reviews.
• Knowledge of labor agreement administration.
• Clear, professional communication.

Responsabilités

• Directs pulp mill operators, utility operators and shift personnel.
• Monitors digesters, washers, bleach plants, evaporators, recovery boilers and recausticizing systems.
• Coordinates startup, shutdown and process changes.
• Responds to upsets and emergencies.
• Ensures safety procedures and incident investigations are completed.
• Manages processes to meet environmental compliance and production targets.
• Directs crew to meet quality and production objectives; allocates resources to restore target operations.
• Train and coordinate crew for skills and safety; act as shift incident commander for incidents.
• Oversees lockout, confined space, hot work and fall arrest procedures.
• Works with Front End Shift Supervisor to coordinate mill activities and drive results.
• Encourages continuous improvement and addresses unprofessional behavior.
