IU Health’s Pulmonary clinic in Lafayette, IN is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support daily clinic operations. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, preparing charts, and assisting with discharge processes.

The MA will maintain patient records in the EMR and coordinate with providers to ensure smooth patient flow. Qualified applicants typically hold a high school diploma or equivalent, complete a Medical Assistant program, and have or be pursuing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certification in CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC preferred or required per unit policy.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; other certifications may be required.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding is beneficial.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA standards is expected.

Responsabilités

• Room patients and obtain vital signs.
• Prepare charts and review patient information prior to visits.
• Assist with patient discharge processes and update EHR.
• Document and update patient information in the EMR system.
• Coordinate with providers to support efficient patient flow.
• Occasionally assist with rooming and discharge in Behavioral Health as needed.
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients and families.
