Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• CMA or RMA certification within first year of employment.
• Clinic/physician office experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes urgent or emergent patient needs and initiates appropriate emergency procedures.
• Maintains and manages electronic medical records per clinic protocol.
• Assists with procedures and operates diagnostic equipment as assigned (EKG, spirometry, tympanometry).
• Maintains aseptic technique for preparation, procedures and medications.
• Documents all patient interactions in the EMR accurately.
• Reports results and pertinent information to patients and health care team.
• Rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with immunizations and injections under supervision.
• Coordinates cross-coverage in other clinic areas as needed.
• Participates in Performance Improvement projects.
