Job description

Overview: We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Publishing Operations Manager to help streamline and execute our video game publishing and marketing efforts. This role will be critical in driving the execution of our game launches through management of our go-to-market plans via multi-channel campaigns, optimizing workflows across departments, and reporting performance analysis across the release of multiple titles a year. A key part of the role will involve maintaining and updating tracking systems that provide clear, accessible project status information to stakeholders across our fast-moving company, helping teams stay aligned and on schedule.

The ideal candidate has strong project management skills, is comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing diverse stakeholders. This person must have a passion for video games and experience working directly in the video game industry with multiple projects shipped as part of their background.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workflow & Process Management: Refine operational processes for game publishing and marketing, ensuring that timelines, asset management, and go-to-market strategies are well-documented, clearly and consistently communicated, and efficiently executed. Leverage workflow and process management tools to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned as the product calendar evolves, including pricing updates, due dates, feedback loops, and more.
  • Go-to-Market Execution: Coordinate and support the execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns by working closely with production, marketing, creative services, PR and external partners.
  • Marketing and Project Management Tools: Leverage project management systems (e.g., Asana, Jira) alongside marketing platforms to coordinate campaign timelines, organize roles and responsibilities, track asset creation and approvals, and ensure cross-functional teams stay aligned throughout product development and launch cycles.
  • Data & Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for campaigns, generate reports for both status and performance, and provide actionable insights for improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the central hub for communication and alignment between production, marketing, creative, and external partners.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all publishing activities and content meet legal standards and clearances, internal quality benchmarks, and, when required, ratings board or first-party platform standards.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in video game publishing and operations, with proven expertise in project management, marketing operations, or business operations. A background in the gaming industry is required.
  • Experience contributing to the successful launch of five or more video game titles.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and competing timelines.
  • Proficiency with project management systems (e.g., Asana, Jira), standard communication tools (e.g., Slack, email), and the ability to adapt to other platforms as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of common multichannel marketing efforts required for a successful go-to-market plan, with insight into how to streamline processes and support cross-functional execution.
  • Familiarity with the game development and publishing process, including common terminology, workflows, and communication practices.

Why you’ll love working here:

  • We're mission-driven: We're revitalizing and re-energizing an iconic brand that recognizes its past while driving toward an exciting new future
  • Up for the challenge: Make a big impact by joining a fast-growing team
  • Great people: Become a part of something incredible, and do it with an exceptionally talented, multidisciplinary team
  • We care about diversity: Video game fans are diverse, so being diverse allows Atari to recognize and build fresh and exciting consumer experiences. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
  • Benefits: 401(k) w/matching; health, dental, vision insurance; paid time-off; free video games.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000
