Job summary

City of Sheboygan is seeking a Maintenance Worker – Streets, Sanitation, & Sewer for the Department of Public Works. This entry-level role exposes you to infrastructure maintenance and operating a range of equipment to support streets, sanitation, and parks.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and a Wisconsin CDL with ABCD endorsements (or ability to obtain within three months). The job requires physical stamina, safety awareness, and willingness to work emergency shifts;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Wisconsin CDL with ABCD endorsements or ability to obtain within three months of hire.
• Knowledge of proper uses and techniques for materials, equipment, and tools used in grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs semi-skilled and unskilled labor in construction, repair, and maintenance of DPW infrastructure.
• Operates trucks and related equipment for DPW operations.
• Collects garbage and operates collection equipment.
• Plows/snow removal and hauling of materials.
• Inspects and maintains storm and sanitary sewers, catch basins, and other drainage facilities.
• Performs landscaping, grounds maintenance and park setup.
• Cleans and maintains public area grounds and equipment.
• Assists in tree planting, trimming and removal and park activities.
• Keeps accurate records and reports as assigned.
