Job summary

City of Monona is seeking a Municipal Technician to support the Street and Utilities Divisions in maintaining streets, water, sewer, and storm water systems. The role requires operating various equipment, responding to emergencies, and performing routine inspections.

Applicants should have a High school diploma or GED, a valid Wisconsin CDL or ability to obtain one within a year, and be willing to participate in on-call rotations and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Wisconsin CDL or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Valid driver's license required.
• On-call and overtime availability.
• Drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Experience in water/public works desired.

Responsibilities

• Operate maintenance equipment including dump truck, loader, and street sweeper.
• Assist with painting road markings and sign installation.
• Repair and maintain streets, curbs, and sidewalks.
• Perform landscaping tasks and grass maintenance.
• Respond to after-hours snow removal emergencies.
• Repair storm water basins, manholes, and lift stations.
• Read blueprints and perform minor maintenance on pumps and valves.
• Monitor SCADA and collect water distribution samples.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for utilities.
