Job summary

City of East Point is seeking an entry-level Tree Trimmer to assist with ground-level trimming and maintenance of public trees in East Point, GA. You will support safety-focused operations, handle basic equipment, and participate in responses to public requests.

The role involves outdoor work, operating chain saws and other tools, and collaborating with a team under supervision. A high school diploma or equivalent and CDL eligibility are preferred.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role assisting with ground-level tree trimming operations.
• Requires valid Georgia CDL license or ability to obtain.
• Experience in construction or maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of tree removal techniques and safety precautions.
• Ability to operate and maintain power tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather.
• Strong teamwork and public interaction when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tree trimming operations from ground level.
• Remove dead or dangerous trees with chainsaws, ropes, and bucket truck.
• Sharpen chainsaw chains.
• Inspect trees along rights of way and parks to determine corrective actions.
• Investigate work requests and recommend work types.
• Listen to public inquiries and schedule work.
• Operate chipper and enforce safety rules.
• May operate other machinery.
• Clean and load equipment and debris.
• May supervise crew.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
