The City of Pearland is hiring a full-time Engineer I to lead and improve operations within the Engineering and Public Works department, specifically in the Capital Projects division. The role emphasizes project planning, design review, and coordination across teams and external consultants.

Responsibilities include coordinating plan reviews, attending pre-bid conferences, facilitating field visits, and communicating progress to city leadership and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related field.
• EIT, PE, or equivalent certifications are desirable.
• Experience with municipal or public works projects is preferred.
• Strong project management and coordination skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage project lifecycle from planning through operation.
• Review designs, plans, specifications for municipal facilities and utilities.
• Coordinate with consultants, staff, and stakeholders; prepare bid documents and progress reports.
• Facilitate site visits, pre-construction conferences, and progress meetings.
• Serve as liaison to community concerns during design and construction phases.
• Ensure quality control and proper documentation of projects.
• Present CIP project updates to city leadership and public.
