Halff Associates, Inc. seeks a Public Works Intern to join our Public Works/Transportation team in Houston, TX. The intern will assist with design, drafting, and analysis on civil engineering projects under supervision.

The role offers mentorship from Professional Engineers, exposure to public works projects, and the opportunity to contribute to client meetings and regulatory submissions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
• Great communication skills.
• Solid relationship and team building skills.
• Self-motivated and strong organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
