Job summary

Halff in The Woodlands, TX invites a Civil Engineering Public Works Intern to join our team for a 2027 summer program. You will support Public Works and Transportation projects under a Professional Engineer's supervision, gaining practical experience across design, drafting, and permitting tasks.

The internship runs June 7 to August 13, 2027, pays hourly for a 40-hour work week, and provides a hands-on environment with real project exposure at a leading infrastructure firm.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong relationship and team-building abilities
• Self-motivated with strong organization skills

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Assist in plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects
• Perform drafting CAD work
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
