Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. seeks a Public Works Intern for our Tyler, TX office to contribute to Public Works and Transportation projects. The internship runs June 7, 2027 through August 13, 2027 and is paid hourly with a 40-hour work week.

Responsibilities include assisting with plans, specifications, cost estimates, drafting CAD work, and permit applications under supervision of a Professional Engineer. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Civil Engineering degree (ABET-accredited).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with good organization.
• Willingness to assist in design and drafting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist in permit applications and other regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with team members, surveyors, architects and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
