Job summary

City of Fair Oaks Ranch is seeking a Full-Time Utility Technician to support water and wastewater services in a hands-on, team-based environment. The role is onsite with a concrete annual salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Daily duties include constructing and maintaining systems, inspecting facilities, and operating a range of tools and equipment. A rotating on-call schedule is required. Strong safety mindset and physical stamina are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Two years of construction, maintenance, or repair experience.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods.
• Ability to work safely around mechanical, electrical, chemical, and other hazards.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Construct, operate, maintain, and repair the City's water distribution and wastewater systems.
• Inspect wells, reservoirs, pumping stations, meters, hydrants, and treatment equipment.
• Repair water mains and install/service connections and valves.
• Flushing hydrants and operating wastewater pump stations and treatment equipment.
• Perform pavement cutting, ditch digging, pipe installation, backfilling, and grounds maintenance.
• Read meters and operate construction equipment like dump trucks and backhoes.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule for emergencies.
