Job summary

County of Davidson seeks a Route Driver to operate a 15-24 passenger Light Transit Vehicle, transporting the general public including elderly and disabled along deviated routes. You will assist riders, perform basic vehicle checks, and keep logs in compliance with safety rules.

Starting hourly wage ranges based on qualifications and experience; NC CDL is required with a Passenger endorsement within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent with some driving experience.
• Valid North Carolina CDL with Passenger endorsement required within 60 days.
• Ability to read a map and follow routes.
• Ability to serve a diverse public and work with the elderly/disabled.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 15-24 passenger vehicle.
• Assist passengers entering/exiting and with wheelchairs/lift.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform minor maintenance.
• Complete logs and reports and follow safety rules.
