Job summary

The New Jersey Office of Innovation is seeking a seasoned technology operations leader to oversee all technology platforms and systems. You will manage a small team, drive security-focused operational policies, and guide procurement decisions to optimize hardware and software use across the organization.

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, you will collaborate with other directors to ensure scalable, secure, and autonomous IT operations in a startup-like environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in technology operations.
• 2+ years of leading cloud-based IT platform administration.
• 1+ year of people management experience.
• Experience in developer operations support including authentication, logging, alerting, monitoring, and uptime.
• Knowledge of modern IT security practices: SSO, identity management, MFA, least privilege, zero-trust.
• Experience deploying and securing software on AWS, SQL/NoSQL databases, and Git/GitHub.
• Experience with agile iterative development and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary administrator of Office of Innovation technology platforms and systems (Google Workspace, GitHub, AWS, Slack, etc.).
• Serve as primary liaison to State’s Office of Information Technology on training, security policy, cloud policy, and other technical policies.
• Manage software licensing, access controls, and onboarding/offboarding processes; manage hardware provisioning and inventory.
• Maintain systems documentation, generate performance reports, and ensure cost efficiency; consult with vendors.
