Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking a procurement professional to lead end-to-end technology procurement, including software, hardware, cloud, and IT services, within the Emerging Technology and Commodities and Services division.

You will collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, legal and other stakeholders, manage vendor relationships, evaluate offers, negotiate terms, and contribute to ihub and AI initiatives while ensuring compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, vendor management, technology purchasing or related field.
• Experience in developing and maintaining project schedules.
• Ability to communicate and build effective relationships internally and externally.
• Experience in managing a large, diverse workload within tight time constraints and with a strong customer-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement activities for technology-related goods and services, including software, hardware, cloud solutions, telecommunications, and IT professional services.
• Manage relationships with strategic technology vendors and serve as the primary point of contact for procurement-related matters.
• Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, legal, MBD, Audit and internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with organizational objectives.
• Review and mitigate contractual, operational, and supplier-related risks.
• Analyze requisitions, scopes, price sheets and solicitation documents to ensure clarity and completeness.
• Conduct the solicitation process utilizing various procurement methods (bids, government piggybacks, sole sources, RFPs, etc.).
• Analyze and incorporate partner department input to vendor proposals, subscription and license agreements and other related documents for responsiveness, accuracy, and completeness.
• Contribute to ongoing efforts related to ihub initiatives and AI exploration and expansion; and
• Build competency in an assigned secondary procurement category such as commodities and services and act as a backup resource to ensure operational resilience and continuity of knowledge.
