Job summary

InnovateNJ is seeking a Director of Product to co-lead the product management team and advance the product practice within the office. The role focuses on empowering product managers, mentoring a diverse team, and driving user impact for New Jersey residents and business owners.

Reporting to the Chief Innovation Officer, you will collaborate with design, engineering, and content teams, lead hiring, and contribute to project work while upholding accessibility and inclusive public service.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of professional experience in agile product management.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in people management.
• Experience guiding end-to-end product development from concept through launch.
• Ability to mentor and develop product managers.
• Experience collaborating with design, engineering, and content teams.

Responsibilities

• Product practice leadership: establish standards and promote excellence.
• Strategic leadership: drive project intake and staffing across initiatives.
• People management: mentor product managers and provide growth feedback.
• Iterative, human-centered product development using agile methods and research.
• Thought leadership and capacity building for government projects.
• Do what’s needed to advance the mission and work of InnovateNJ.
