Job summary

The City of Springfield is seeking an HR professional to serve as an Human Resources Specialist focused on recruitment. You will partner with supervisors to attract and hire top talent across a range of positions and work closely with the Springfield Police Department to recruit for sworn roles.

You will develop tailored recruitment strategies, guide candidates through a structured selection process, and lead outreach efforts.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's Degree in HR, Public or Business Administration or related field.
• One year of professional HR recruitment experience.
• Master's Degree in HR or related area may substitute for experience.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Springfield Police Department leaders to attract and hire candidates for sworn Police positions.
• Develop and implement customized recruitment strategies based on staffing needs.
• Guide candidates through a specialized selection process with clear communication.
• Lead outreach and recruitment efforts to source qualified applicants.
