Job summary

FDNY's Bureau of Human Resources seeks an HR Talent Acquisition Specialist in Brooklyn. The role supports civil service processes, analyzes vacancies, and prepares personnel actions for EMS, Uniform, and civilian staff.

Ideal candidates hold an advanced degree or equivalent experience and demonstrate strong organization, communication, and data-management skills to support hiring managers and executive staff in a fast-paced public-safety environment.

Qualifications

• Master's or bachelor's with required experience in HR, budgeting or public administration.
• Bachelor's degree with two years of experience in HR, budget or related area.
• Associate degree with four years of related experience as described.
• High school diploma with six years of related experience as described.
• Education/experience combination per above guidelines; college credits may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify job descriptions for vacancies in accordance with DCAS TitleSpecifications.
• Prepare PARs for EMS, Uniform, and civilian vacancies including blanket PARs.
• Vet candidate resumes to fill various positions.
• Maintain HR Access and Oracle databases as needed.
• Prepare HR reports for review by Budget Services and executive staff.
• Draft correspondence for changes to title level and/or salary; assist with status updates and communications.

Bachelor's degree with two years of professional experience in HR, budgeting, accounting, or related areas

Associate degree with four years of related professional experience

High school diploma with six years of related professional experience

Combination of education and/or experience equivalent to above
