Job summary

Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) is seeking a Purchasing Specialist in Tallahassee to provide procurement support to the Departmental Purchasing Bureau and ensure compliance with Florida statutes and rules.

The role drafts RFQs, reviews requisitions in MFMP, advises customers on purchasing requirements and processes, and participates in meetings to stay current with purchasing policy updates and best practices.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Florida public procurement practices and Rules (Chapter 287, Rule 60A)
• Experience with MFMP procurement system
• Understanding of Florida Statutes and purchasing rules

Responsibilities

• Provide procurement support to the Florida Department of Management Services within the Departmental Purchasing Bureau.
• Review and approve requisitions in MFMP for accuracy and compliance with laws and policies.
• Draft, review, and manage RFQs for products and services from state contracts and GSA eBuy.
• Advise on purchasing requirements, MFMP processes, documentation needs, and best practices.
• Attend meetings/trainings to stay updated on rules and procedures; perform special projects as assigned.
• Ensure procurement documents and records comply with retention schedules and state statutes.
