Job summary

Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) seeks a Budget & Data Manager for the Division of State Purchasing in Tallahassee. The role focuses on managing the division’s budget, forecasting expenditures, and reviewing all purchases and vendor agreements to ensure funds are used prudently.

You will also oversee data quality, generate executive summaries, and support procurement oversight with accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Four years of progressively responsible experience in the business, accounting, or statistical field; college experience can substitute for the required experience.
• Experience interpreting statutes and administrative rules is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with management and administration of the Division of State Purchasing’s budget, including tracking expenditures and forecasting.
• Review purchases and agreements as budget manager and make recommendations based on available funds.
• Respond to budget inquiries from the department or other entities.
• Oversee data quality, identify inconsistencies, and recommend corrections or highlights of suspect data.
• Prepare reliable reports and templates to support procurement oversight and trust fund management.
