Job summary

CORE in Roseville/ Emeryville is hiring a Preconstruction Manager/Estimator to lead cost estimating on public sector projects from early concept through GMP. The role collaborates with design teams, owners, and subcontractors to align scope, budget, and schedule, and requires polished communication and strong judgment.

This client-facing position emphasizes teamwork, constructability reviews, and adherence to California public contract requirements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in construction estimating and/or preconstruction management
• Experience with progressive design-build, lease-leaseback, or CM at Risk
• Experience estimating California public sector work (K-12, higher ed, municipal) preferred
• Strong ability to develop scope, unit rates, and bid proposals

Responsibilities

• Lead cost estimates from concept through CD phases and GMP
• Break down scope into detailed line items and quantities
• Develop and maintain cost models, budgets, and GMP proposals
• Solicit and negotiate subcontractor bids and buyouts
• Partner with architects, engineers, owners, and project teams
• Identify risks and support mitigation strategies
• Prepare cost estimates and preconstruction status updates for clients and CORE leadership
• Maintain organized project files and cost data in CORE systems
• Travel within CA region as needed
