Job summary

RCP Construction, Inc. is seeking an Estimator/Preconstruction Manager to lead cost estimation and early project planning across multiple market sectors in the Greater Sacramento and SF Bay Area.

This hybrid role emphasizes collaboration with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders to set up projects for success. The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years in commercial estimating and preconstruction, plus strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
• 5–8 years in commercial construction estimating and preconstruction.
• Proficient with estimating software and standard office tools.
• Strong communication and coordination with owners, architects, and engineers.
• Ability to develop and manage budgets, schedules, and constructability reviews.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, and hard bid estimates for commercial projects.
• Lead preconstruction planning from inception through final estimates.
• Collaborate with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders to define scope and budget.
• Develop schedules, phasing, and logistics strategies for projects.
• Coordinate bid packages, procurement strategies, and subcontractor input.
