Job summary

Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is seeking an Human Resources Specialist to perform a range of clerical HR tasks under supervision. The role includes evaluating applications, scoring examinations, and maintaining recruitment data with strict confidentiality.

The position requires handling inquiries from applicants and staff, coordinating tests and appointments, and supporting background investigations while ensuring accuracy across multiple databases and records management systems.

Qualifications

• Two years of related full-time work experience within the last 3 years.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional discretion.
• Strong accuracy in reviewing documents for completeness and compliance.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate employment applications and administer examinations; schedule assessments.
• Prepare recruitment eligiblity lists and maintain databases.
• Interact with applicants, employees, vendors, and other agencies via phone, in person, and email.
• Assist Background investigators with initial background processing.
• Maintain confidential personnel files and update hiring records.
