Job summary

The Fulton County Sheriff's Office is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to deliver comprehensive HR services for sworn, detention, and civilian staff. You will manage recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and policy administration with strict confidentiality.

You will also handle benefits, payroll support, HRIS data integrity, and reporting while ensuring compliance with federal/state laws and POST standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of professional HR experience; public safety or government experience strongly preferred.
• Professional HR Certification strongly preferred.
• Experience with recruitment, employee development, and HR compliance required.
• Strong understanding of employment law, HR best practices, and public-sector HR processes.
• Familiarity with public safety hiring standards, POST requirements, and background investigations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and applicant tracking platforms.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment & Staffing: Coordinate full-cycle recruitment for sworn, detention, and civilian positions, including job postings and background checks.
• Onboarding & Orientation: Facilitate new-hire onboarding and policy acknowledgments.
• Employee Relations: Assist supervisors with corrective actions and performance improvement plans.
• Compliance & Policy Administration: Ensure HR practices comply with federal/state laws and POST standards.
• Benefits & Leave Management: Guide benefits enrollment and leave programs.
• Payroll & HRIS Support: Assist with payroll processing and data accuracy in HRIS.
• Training & Professional Development: Coordinate employee training sessions.
• Reporting & Data Management: Prepare HR reports and maintain confidential records.
