Job summary

City of Hollywood, FL is seeking a budget and finance professional to coordinate, plan and direct budget development, control and special projects. You will forecast revenues, prepare operating and capital budgets, and analyze complex financial documents to support department goals.

Responsibilities include preparing budget narratives, cost information, charts and reports; assisting in policy development; managing grants; and building partnerships across agencies in a fast-paced municipal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or public administration.
• Three (3) years governmental budgeting and/or accounting experience.
• MBA or M.P.A. is preferred.
• Five (5) years governmental budgeting and/or accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the facilitation of and participates in the preparation and control of assigned department’s annual capital and operating budgets by compiling and analyzing financial data.
• Coordinates the preparation of narratives; preparing cost information, budget related documents and charts, budget reports, plans and projects.
• Identifies budget problems, processes and procedures.
• Provides assistance, research and counsel to assigned department on policy, and administrative and operational issues of the Department.
• Builds positive business partnerships while leading and/ or participating on inter and intra-agency projects and committees.
