Job summary

City of Hialeah is seeking a Budget Analyst to prepare and maintain the operating budget, provide budgetary analysis, and assist the Budget Administrator and department heads.

You will monitor budgets, review requests, ensure Workday worktags, and help prepare budget documents, reports, and presentations for internal use. A bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years in budgeting or finance, plus strong Excel skills, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional budgeting/finance experience.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing annual operating and capital budgets.
• Monitor department budgets and compare actual vs. budgeted expenditures.
• Prepare budget documents, reports and presentations for internal use.
• Ensure Workday worktags are accurate on invoices, payments and requisitions.
• Review budget transfers and amendments for proper funding allocations.
• Support fee studies and cost analyses.
