Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation is seeking an Accounting Supervisor on a role that manages contractor payments and construction-related expenditures. You will supervise the payments process, integrity of the chart of accounts, and compliance with prompts and audits while guiding staff.

The position offers flexibility with a remote work option within Arizona and up to two days in-office. Strong knowledge of government accounting and supervisory experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with supervisory experience or related field with 24 accounting hours.
• Two years of governmental accounting experience is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft and Google tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all payments to contractors, consultants, local governments, railroad and utility construction.
• Oversees chart of accounts elements for related payments and audits.
• Ensures compliance with prompt pay statutes and state policies.
• Trains staff on system issues, requirements, and procedural updates.
