Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is seeking an Accountant I-level professional to manage payments to contractors, consultants, and other entities supporting highway construction. You will oversee the chart of accounts, contractor estimates, and audits, ensuring prompt pay compliance under Arizona statutes.

The role involves processing payments, overseeing the Contracts Payable inbox, and updating desk procedures to strengthen the team's sustainability through training and process

Qualifications

• Two years governmental accounting experience equivalent to Accountant 1; OR completion of at least 24 semester hours of accounting from an accredited college or university; OR two years professional level accounting experience in business or industry.

Responsibilities

• Process payments to contractors, consultants, local governments, railroad and utility construction and others in support of the highway construction program.
• Oversight of the Contracts Payable email inbox; assign tasks and provide information as requests come in.
• Update desk procedures to include all facets of sustainability for the team, including training, procedure mapping, and SIPOC diagrams.
