Charleston County Government is seeking a qualified Peer Support Program Coordinator to lead the Peer Support Team within the ECC and, as needed, other Public Safety Directorate departments. The role requires overseeing education, procedures, and interdepartmental communication to support responders in crisis.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration preferred.
• Minimum of two years as a Peer Support Team member in a public safety environment.
• Must possess a current NCIC certification or obtain and maintain certification within six months of hire date.
• Must have no felony convictions; misdemeanors will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
• Pass a background investigation including driving record, employment history, education, and training verification.
• Pass a pre-employment physical and psychological evaluation.
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft 365.
• Must possess a valid SC Driver’s License or obtain within three months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Coordinates the Peer Support program for the ECC and other Public Safety Directorate departments.
• Provides administration, monitoring, development, and evaluation of the Peer Support Team.
• Assists the clinical director in developing Peer Support program procedures.
• Coordinates communication between the clinical director and Peer Support Team.
• Assists in disseminating educational material and resources for the Peer Support program.
• Analyzes, evaluates, and reports on the state of the Peer Support program.
• Coordinates the response for Critical Incident Stress Management and Debriefing, and other resources.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
