Job summary

Charleston County EMS is seeking an EMS Peer Support Coordinator to build and lead a first responder-oriented peer support program for all EMS personnel and staff in Charleston County. The role focuses on developing procedures, coordinating critical incident debriefings, and advocating for staff welfare.

The position requires a team player with strong analytical skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, and a background in peer support or counseling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration preferred

Responsibilities

• Build and administer a first responder-oriented peer support program from the ground up
• Develop program procedures and response protocols for critical incidents/debriefings
• Protect confidentiality and uphold professional integrity and trust with EMS staff
