Charleston County Government is seeking an EMS Peer Support Coordinator to establish a first responder–oriented peer support program from the ground up for Charleston County EMS personnel and staff.

This role lays the foundation for compassionate, confidential support aligned with our EMS mission “We Care.” The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or Public Administration preferred, and at least two years in peer support or

Qualifications

• Requires peer support or counseling experience with first responders.
• Must have at least two years in a public safety setting.
• Certification as a Peer Support Specialist preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsabilités

• Manage and administer a first responder–oriented peer support program.
• Serve as resource and advocate for supporting EMS providers and staff.
• Develop program procedures and coordinate communication for critical incidents/debriefings.
