Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires strong leadership of multiple legally regulated support-service functions in a 24‑hour public safety environment.
• Experience developing employees, building accountable teams, and handling sensitive personnel matters.
• Ability to translate laws, data, and operational needs into clear recommendations and sustainable improvements.
• Demonstrated credibility as a department spokesperson, including during emergencies and critical incidents.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, manage, and evaluate Police Department support services and programs.
• Lead policy, budget, compliance, technology, staffing, and service-delivery improvements.
• Manage communications, records, property and evidence, crime analysis, statistics, and public safety tech functions.
• Coordinate public safety technology projects with the City’s IT function (CAD/RMS, radios, cameras, databases).
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and recommendations for department and City decision-making.
• Serve as the Police Department’s Public Information Officer and respond to media inquiries.
