Job summary

Berkeley County Government is seeking a Public Safety Systems Administrator to plan, design, implement, and maintain information systems supporting Police, Fire, EMS and Dispatch divisions. You will ensure availability and security of Public Safety applications across multiple databases and interfaces.

The role requires deep understanding of CAD, RMS, QMS, JMS, and related 911 software, with focus on enforcing regulatory compliance and effective system provisioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Four (4) years of related experience in project management and application support.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable.
• Must have and maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, implement, and maintain Public Safety information systems.
• Install, configure, and maintain 911-related applications and related hardware.
• Coordinate maintenance and programming of 911 radio equipment with the Berkeley County Radio Shop.
• Provide system administration for CAD, RMS, and Records Management Systems.
• Ensure data integrity and security per Public Safety best practices and regulatory compliance.
• Research emerging Public Safety software products and manage vendor negotiations.
• Identify faults and develop resolution paths; support long-term strategic goals.
• Contribute to process development and best practices.
