The University Police Department, Southern Command at UNLV is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Coordinator on a part-time, temporary basis. The role involves coordinating preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs for department vehicles, acting as liaison with in-house and external mechanics, and managing records and inventory.

Earn $24.00–$28.00 per hour for ~20 hours weekly (capped at 1,000 hours per fiscal year). No supervisory duties; schedule set by demand and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Driver’s License: Valid Nevada or out-of-state license with ability to obtain Nevada license.
• Experience: 1–2 years in fleet administration, maintenance coordination, or logistics.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate routine preventative maintenance for all department vehicles.
• Perform routine fleet inspections for body damage, wear, and emergency equipment.
• Liaise with internal fleet mechanics at UNLV and CSN, and external repair shops.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service history, recalls, fuel usage, and work orders.
• Coordinate installation and troubleshooting of specialized police equipment.
• Assist in rapid cycling of spare/pool vehicles during emergencies or swaps.
• Monitor spare parts, keys, and basic maintenance inventory.
