Job summary

County of Lancaster seeks a motivated learner to join the 9-1-1 Communications team as a Telecommunicator trainee. You will learn the basic skills to become functional in the call taking process and will progress to a 9-1-1 Telecommunicator II within the program’s first year.

Responsibilities include operating computer, telephone, and radio systems; following protocols; entering caller information into CAD; and routing calls to the appropriate dispatcher.

Responsibilities

• Operate computer systems, phones, and radio equipment in a fast-paced environment.

• Enter caller data into CAD and queue calls to the right dispatcher.
• Maintain professional appearance and comply with policies.
