Job summary

The City of Lubbock is seeking an entry-level trainee for the Police Emergency Communications Center to become a public safety intake specialist. You will learn to rapidly receive and stabilize calls, input critical data into the CAD system, and support high-volume law enforcement communications.

During a six-month probation, you will complete intensive academy instruction, pass typing and written exams, and rotate across shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Typing test demanded: 50 words per minute with 90% accuracy.
• Pass a written exam with at least 75%.

Responsibilities

• Answer raw, unvetted emergency and non-emergency lines rapidly and input data into the CAD system.
• Listen to active law enforcement radio traffic while taking detailed notes.
• Maintain real-time situational awareness and coordinate rapid responses to incidents.
