Job summary

The University of North Texas in Denton is seeking a Dispatcher to support the UNT Police Department. A high school diploma or GED is required; candidates must be at least 18 and meet Texas citizen/residency requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; U.S. citizenship or eligible resident status as per TX dispatcher rules.
  • Must be at least 18 years old at time of application; U.S. citizen or eligible for permanent residency with discharge veteran evidence if applicable.
  • Ability to maintain security and integrity of critical infrastructure related to this role.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains and records all pertinent information by priority; data entry of TCIC/NCIC/NCTCIC records and related documents.
  • Maintains radio etiquette; broadcasts information to officers and relays weather/pertinent updates to field personnel.
  • Ensures compliance with policies, statutes, safety guidelines and procedures; supports service and process improvements.
  • Regularly attends and participates, prioritizing team goals and professional conduct; applies discretion to resolve issues.
