Qualifications

• One year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in the operation of communications systems, or in fast-paced environments requiring multi-tasking.
• A high school diploma or certificate of graduation from a secondary education school or program recognized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Incumbents may be required to pass a critical skills assessment prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Receives, reviews, and transmits emergency and law enforcement related communications using radio, teleprocessing, cellular 911 systems and related networks.
• Coordinates communications for National Attack Warning Systems under FEMA rules in emergencies.
• Responds to information requests and transmits dispatch orders to coordinate field personnel.
• Maintains records of radio transmissions and related files; operates emergency TDY systems for hearing-impaired public.
• Provides weather, road and travel information to agencies and public; supports major law enforcement actions.
